Living in Southwest London: A day in the life
If you’re looking for houses for sale in Putney, Wimbledon or any of the other popular neighbourhoods in the Southwest, our Cambium development in Southfields is perfectly placed. Nestled nicely between Wimbledon and Putney, these 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes offer all the benefits of a house in the suburbs, but only 30 minutes from Central London.
To help you visualise your life in Southwest London, we’ve pulled together what an ordinary day might look like…
Same time as always – your alarm goes off. You rub your eyes and walk downstairs for coffee. It’s one of your favourite sights – your open plan kitchen and living area. It wakes you up; the natural light flooding through the bifold doors, the smell of the coffee brewing.
After checking some emails (in a leisurely fashion, it is the weekend after all), you head out to meet your friend for an early brunch. This morning it’s Gazette Brasserie in Putney. There are so many brunch spots between Putney and Wimbledon village, that you’re trying your best to sample them all!
With a tummy full of ‘petit dejeuner’ and coffee you agree to go for a wander through Wimbledon and Putney Common since the sun is shining. It’s one of your favourite things about the area: when compared to other neighbourhoods in London, you feel safe when you’re walking around. Your friend departs midway through your walk, by which point you’re only 10 minutes from your front door.
It’s one of the best things about your home – your garden. When you roll those doors back you truly blend indoor and outdoor living, and on a sunny afternoon there’s nowhere else you’d rather be! Walking barefoot on your own lawn and then feeling the heated floors of your kitchen while you pour yourself an ice-cold drink – it’s the little things.
You and your partner have planned a night out with friends this evening. So, given you’ve spent all afternoon in the sun, you spend a few hours getting ready while you have peace!
Your master bathroom is an oasis of calm. You soak in the bath, wash your hair then head to your bedroom to select an outfit. Everything’s so easy in the new home; fitted wardrobes and a dedicated dressing area make simple things like getting ready feel that bit more luxurious!
You’re headed to Rick Stein’s Brasserie in Barnes; good food and river views as the sun goes down. And it’s only 15 minutes in a taxi. After that, it’s on to the last showing of a film at the ODEON Luxe, Putney embankment.
How many houses for sale in Putney or Wimbledon have a private, elevated terrace leading off from the master bedroom? Perhaps, not too many.
You make the most of this private outdoor space; throwing open the doors to enjoy the evening air flood your spacious bedroom, while you and your partner have one more glass of wine.
