Hard Hat on at Deptford Landings

In October of 2018, Metro’s Hard Hat journalist, Oliver Wadeson, visited Deptford Landings met by a flurry of construction activity on 1,132 new homes and restoration of historic pub, The Victoria.

The article published in Metro, on the 23rd of October 2018, notes that we are ‘bucking a trend’ by retaining the pub and credits us with sustainable practices across the Deptford development from the very inception.

From the outset of construction, almost all materials demolished on the site, previously occupied by low-level industrial units, have been recycled by Lendlease. Richard Cook, Head of Lendlease Residential mentions ‘This meant all the concrete was crushed and reused on the site and all of the steel and timber recycled,’

Also noted was alignment of Deptford Landings masterplan to London’s reduced use of cars with reduction of car parking spaces and provision of at least two cycle spaces per dwelling.

A full time community manager employed by Lendlease and the creation of a charitable trust awarding £25,000 to a local cause each year will ensure that the development is an active community partner before it’s first residents even move in.

Cedarwood Square currently under construction comprises 203 new homes due for completion in Winter 19/20. In total, 1,132 homes are proposed at Deptford Landings with 20% of the total being affordable homes and 166 apartments in the development’s landmark tower, Victoria Point set to be released in 2019. Residents at Deptford Landings will benefit from over 100,000 sqft of retail and community space as well as a green spine, Waterline park, which will connect Deptford Landings with adjoining residential developments.
